this evening at dinner, jon and i learned a new word. not really a word...an acronym. dennis is usually pretty quiet at dinner. there's usually something on tv worth watching (i know, i'm a bad mom for allowing tv during dinner, but really, we sit down and have dinner together almost every night. how many families really do that? we'll work on no tv with the next one...right.)
so dennis hollers, "oy tay! you will never believe what happened today at school." and we waited. he said, "this girl, she made a strange sound from a strange place." and i got nervous, because that sounded a little shady.
and then he said, "t.o.l."
pregnant pause.
"she tooted out loud."
and i almost shot cilantro out my nose. seriously.

Emily - this is fantastic! It's amazing what comes out of teenager's mouths, isn't it? I would have liked to been a fly on the wall when Dennis made that remark!
i sure hope my dad doesn't get word of this new acronym. he isn't good at taking new terms, slang or otherwise...and then adapting them to his own lifestyle.
several years ago, he tried to slip in the term "baby mama drama" during a christmas celebration.
it went over like a turd in a punchbowl...
t.o.l. i will for sure be using that. in fact, pratt to.-ed tonight. several times.
Hilarious.
oh my...ROFLOL...
too funny! i love it that your TEENAGER said "tooted"...most would have had the acronym "fol" so funny! see, he has good manners even though he watches tv during dinner...must be doing something right, mom! lol...
love it...thanks for expanding our vocabulary since us 30 year olds are soo out of the loop now:)
